David Earl Waits Jr.

David Earl Waits, Jr., 59 of Bastrop, passed away in the early morning of July 27 of 2022, in the town of Bastrop Texas.

David was born in Warner Robins, Georgia, to parents David Earl Waits, Sr., and Gail Yvonne Waits on June 18, 1963. He went to school in Fort Walton, Florida. He married Judy Sargeant on June 2, 1984, in High Park Christian Church, Austin, Texas. He graduated from Fort Walton Beach High school.

He worked as a foreman plumber for AirCo, TDI, LT Plumbing, Kilgore and various other companies around Austin. David was a plumber straight out of high school. He graduated with a technical degree in plumbing and worked until his father, David Waits; Sr. became ill in 2017. He helped care for his father, who was diagnose with Alzheimer and dementia, David was awarded a plaque of excellence with TD Industries.

David enjoyed classic rock music and was looking forward to the Motley Crue concert that was coming up. He loved Boston Terriers, he thought they were the cutest pups in the world. He enjoyed naughty jokes and pulling your chain. He was a collector of gnomes and anything his kids made him. He held them close to his heart. David was always taking in strays. He gave his friends a place to stay, his children’s friend’s, animal and he loved them with his whole heart. He was marvelous mentor and believed in giving the advice to you straight whether you liked what he had to say or not. David had a big heart and a rough exterior. He was someone worth knowing.

David is preceded in death by his mother Gail Yvonne Waits.

He is survived by his wife Judy Waits, their four children: David Earl ll, Aimee, Cecilia, Aaron. His eight grandchildren Sean, Emma, Jake, Carlos, David Earl llll , Aurora Beaux, and Bradyn. His grand dog Harley. His father David Waits Sr. and his two sisters Terri Sambuco and Lisa Marchman.

David’s Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the American Legion - Post 533 located at
