Yolanda “Yoli” Vidal DeLeon was born April 23, 1966 in Mexico to Ernestina Vidal and the late Leovigildo Vidal, and peacefully passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in Austin. She married Amadeo Mario DeLeon Jr. on May 11, 1991 in Seguin, Texas.
She was the founder and legendary force behind Yoli’s Tacos & More Catering for the past 7 years. Yoli’s Tacos is a homegrown, family-run business that is famous for breakfast tacos and anytime tacos on handmade tortillas, plus fantastic daily specials. She won “Best of Bastrop” 3 years in a row by consistently and rapidly serving delicious food to a wide assortment of loyal customers and friends. This was more than a business; this was her ministry.
She also won the hearts of Bastropians every day by cheering their successes, smiling at their babies, brightening lives with her signature laugh, providing counsel when needed, and catering special landmarks in their lives. She was a woman of faith, a nourishing mother figure to many, and a cherished friend to all.
Revered as the hardest working woman in Bastrop, she also inspired her children to fine-tune their trades and open their own businesses. With her encouragement, all DeLeon family members are entrepreneurs who exemplify love in action.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Amadeo Mario DeLeon Jr., her adored children Amadeo Vidal DeLeon III and Eve America DeLeon; and her siblings Sylvia Gonzalez, San Juana Gonzalez, Maria Isabel Gonzalez, Leovigildo Gonzalez, Ernestina Gonzalez and Jose Guadalupe Gonzalez.
She was preceded in death by her father Leovigildo Vidal; and siblings Juan Antonio Gonzalez, Norma Delia Gonzalez, and Hugo Leonel Gonzalez.
Funeral services will be held from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday, July 31 at Providence Funeral Home in Bastrop. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00pm on Friday, July 30th.
The family is touched by the outpouring of love from the community. Please continue to share stories of how Yoli impacted your life with the family and at the restaurant located at 1106 Chestnut Street.
