Winnie Leona Warren, 65 years old, of Bastrop, TX, passed away on September 30, 2022, surrounded by loved ones in Austin, TX. Leona was born in Ardmore, OK to John and Edna Joanne Philagios on March 6, 1957. She grew up in Denison, TX with her three brothers and three sisters. Leona was a devoted wife, married to Freddie Gale Warren on August 3, 1984, and they recently celebrated 38 years of marriage. She was an avid reader, skilled crocheter, coffee enthusiast, and down-home cook. Leona was a woman of great faith and was always involved with her local church. She taught Sunday school, gave to those in need, attended Bible study, and prayed ceaselessly. She greeted everyone she met with a warm smile and tight hug, and always left others feeling cared for and loved. She strove every day to be the hands and feet of Jesus and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Leona is survived by her husband Fred Warren; daughter Juanita Philagios and fiancé Rob Perryman, stepdaughter Elizabeth Warren, daughter Amy Macalik and husband Thomas Macalik; sisters Evelyn Shaw, Susan Gibson, and Callie Evans; brother Philip Philagios; grandchildren Apryl Ledezma and husband Orlando Ledezma, Christopher Stone, Javier Flores, Evelyn Flores, Olivia Warren, Ada Macalik, and Claire Macalik; and great-grandchild OJ Ledezma. Leona is preceded in death by her parents John and Edna Joanne Philagios, brothers Mike Philagios and Jerry Philagios, and stepson Johnathon Warren. Memorial services will be held 4:00PM Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Heart of Texas Church of Christ in Bastrop, TX. “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4
