Vivian "Nan" Johnson

Vivian Doris Johnson, 90, of Smithville, passed away on October 3, 2020 in Smithville, Texas.

Vivian was born in Bartlett, Texas to Daisy Gibson on March 25, 1930.  She lived in Red Rock until she was 6 and then moved to Bastrop where she was raised by her mother Daisy and her step-father Jim Queen.

She worked at Swifttex in Bastrop for many years and then worked at IBM in Austin until she retired.  She also worked as a waitress at several different restaurants in Bastrop over the years.

She enjoyed spending time with her “kids”.  She called her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren her kids and she loved spending time with them and helping care for and raise them.  She also loved painting and left behind many beautiful paintings for her family to enjoy.

Vivian is survived by son Charles Miller and spouse Ann, daughter Vicky Tiner, daughter-in-law Jane Howell, grandchildren Larry Miller, Allen Zbranek, Tammi Todd, Terri Harris, Lisa Parker, Jeremy Howell, Amy Howell, great-grandchildren Kristin Miles, Kaleigh Mubasher, Jenna Clardy, Morgan Harris, Karley Todd, Daisy Howell, Josiah Parker, John Howell, Zoe Parker, Isaac Parker, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Daisy and Jim Queen, her son Donnie Howell, her siblings Alvin Gibson, Ben Gibson, Monroe Gibson, Woodrow Gibson, Lucille Seaton, Marjorie Queen, Alice Standridge, Walter Standridge, Bob Standridge , William Standridge and Lillian Standridge.

Visitation will be at Providence Funeral Home in Bastrop, TX from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.

Funeral service will be held at Providence Funeral Home in Bastrop, TX on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow at Gibson Sand Hill Cemetery.
