Virginia Odle

Virginia Dale (Lander) Odle, a loving mother and friend passed away on November 13, 2020 at the age of 82. She was the daughter of Ernest Lander and Goldie (Jantz) Lander. Virginia was born on February 28, 1938 in Elm Mott, Texas.  She grew up in West, Texas with her siblings, LaVerne Kapczynski and Elwood Lander.

In the early 1970’s she was an associate with Fox’s Department Store. Later in life she worked in the Real Estate arena. Virginia finished her working career with the La Vega ISD in Waco, as a teacher’s assistant. She was also one of the founding charter members of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bastrop, Texas.

Virginia was a wonderful, kind, and loving mother. She adored her cat Miss Kitty and her dog Ace. Virginia would take pleasure growing plants outside on her back deck. She also enjoyed wearing beautiful jewelry and loved spending quality time with her family and friends. She especially cherished watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.

Virginia leaves behind her son Randy Dale Geltmeier and his wife Beverly, her son Keith Wayne Geltmeier, and her daughter Deena Geltmeier Zimmerhanzel and her husband A.J. She has six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Odle and her parents, Ernest and Goldie.

Virginia was loved and will be missed so much. She is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and will see you again one day. We love you, Mom!

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bastrop Providence Funeral Home.
