Victor "Cowboy" Solis

Victor “Cowboy” Solis, 62 of Bastrop, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Victor was born in Salinas, California to Esther (Villalpando) and Narciso Solis on December 31, 1957.    He married Antonia Gonzales on December 16, 1978 in Austin, Texas.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator.

Victor known as “Cowboy” to his family and friends was a great provider for his family. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved to BBQ and participating in cookoffs with his son. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Antonia; daughter, Tracy Solis Rutiaga and husband, Edgar; two sons: Victor Solis Jr. and Eddie Solis; five sisters: Mary Sanchez, Ruth Gonzales, Janet Vaquera, Linda Torrez, Anna Aguirre; three brothers: Sam Soliz, Richard Solis, Narciso “ChiCho” Solis and his pup companion, “Chiqeta”.

Victor is preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; four brothers: Narciso Solis Jr., Rudy Solis, Juan Solis and Henry Solis.

Visitation will be 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Hwy 71 East, Bastrop, Texas with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Mass services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Ascension Catholic Church, 905 Water St., Bastrop, Texas.
