Vickie Lynn Vincent, age 64, of Cedar Creek TX, passed away peacefully at home on July 04 2024. She left behind a legacy of respect for nature and kindness towards animals. Vickie was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Earl and Neva Kilgore on July 5, 1959. She is survived by sons, Wesley and Trevor Vincent, daughter-in-law Loretta Huizar, Sister Suzanne Kilgore, sister-in-law Ody Trapaga, nephew Brandon Rodriguez and Niece Emma Rodriguez. Vickie is preceded in death by parents Earl and Neva Kilgore and Spouse David J. Vincent
She earned her Associates degree from Austin Community College. Vickie went on to work for the city of Austin and the Chamber of Commerce of Bastrop.
Vickie’s love for animals was evident in the way she cared for every creature that crossed her path. This led her to adopt and foster many a stray. She firmly believed in the work of the non-profit organization Emancipet to provide affordable veterinary care accessible to all pet owners.
A lifelong gardener, Vickie was never happier than browsing through a local garden center, her dedication to the craft earned her the title of Certified Master Gardener from the State of Texas. Believing deeply in the importance of recycling, she was a dedicated steward of the environment, always striving to leave the world a better place than she found it.
She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the blossoms of every garden and the love of every rescued animal.
Vickie’s family will be celebrating her life in a private ceremony. The family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to Compassus Hospice.
