Velma Faye Dykes was born on October 1, 1936, she sadly left our world to be the Lord on February 9, 2025, after a long and happy life lived. She was known for her amazing love for others, her kindness, and of course her amazing cooking and baking she did for her family.
Velma was a hard-working wife and mother who retired from the State, along with her husband, Wildred Crawford. They resided in Georgetown, Texas with their three kids, Sharon, Greg and Scott.
Despite the death of her husband, Wildred Crawford, Velma was a strong and devoted mother that always provided a loving, and warm home for her children.
Velma remarried on November 7, 1990 to Eugene Goertz. They lived out the rest of their lives in Cedar Creek, Texas enjoying their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Velma is survived by her youngest son, Scott Crawford, her twin sister, Thelma Dykes, and sister, Ruthnell. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Jamie and husband Zac Benberg, Sarah Sweeney, Robert Sweeney, Sean Patrick, and Lilliana Crawford; her great-grandchildren, Herbert Neal and Jax Benberg, Nolan and Jonah Vanmeter.
Velma was preceded in death by Wldred Crawford, Eugene Goertz, Margaret Dykes, Paulene Dykes, Greg Crawford, and Sharon Crawford.
Velma was 88 year old when she passed away, but she will never be forgotten as she still lives within the hearts of all those who had the amazing pleasure of knowing her.
A service to celebrate her life will be scheduled at a later time.
