After a long and courageous battle with diabetes, years of dialysis and recent hospitalizations, our beloved brother Tracy John Wayne Shelton went home to be with our heavenly father on December 11, 2017. Tracy was with his sister Christie and his brother Johnny when he went to his heavenly home. Tracy Wayne was born on December 29, 1955 to Marvin and Marion Shelton. Tracy attended Joslin Elementary, Porter Jr. High and Crockett High School in Austin. He studied at Austin Community College. He lived in Austin and in Round Rock. Tracy’s favorite quote was “There are those that do and those who don’t”. Tracy was one of those that “do”. Tracy was a self-made man as he worked endlessly on multiple careers. He was a salesman, carpet layer and owner of a computer business. Tracy literally could sell anything to anyone – as he had a gift of gab. If we only could have bottled his sales talent! He hired many people in his computer business and gave them the opportunity to learn and grow. Many of his employees didn’t have too much computer experience but he hired them and many of his employees went on to successful careers after they left his employ and he closed his business. Tracy was as he put it now “Happily Retired”. Tracy loved to have barbeques and invite family and friends to come over and swim in his pool. He also loved to go to the lake to camp out and jet ski. Tracy loved to travel. He loved his family very much. He loved his son Steven very much. Tracy loved his dogs Alex and Connor. Sometimes, we thought he loved his dogs more than his family! We will miss Tracy but we know that Jesus tells us that “Truly, I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise, Luke 23:43 and Paul told us that “We are confident, I say and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord!” 2 Corinthians 5:8. This is the confidence that Christians have with our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ that we have a place in heaven for eternity and we will see all of our Christian family and friends again. We can just imagine the conversation that Tracy is having at this moment and his new spiritual body! Tracy Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Steve Shelton and Marion Elizabeth Williams Shelton and his brother Chester Thomas Shelton. Survivors include his son Steven Shelton and wife Mirna of Austin, brother Steve Shelton and wife Revrie of Brady, sister in law Marilyn Shelton of Georgetown, brother Jonathan Shelton of Austin and favorite sister Christie Shelton of Austin. Nephews – Thomas Shelton, Kevin Shelton, Chris Shelton and Chris Thornhill-Shelton, Nieces – Melissa Fasolino, Melanie Romer, Stefanie Shelton, Laurie Ahrens and Tara Drollette. He is survived by many great nephews and many great nieces. He is also survived by many family and friends. Graveside Services will be held at the Chester Lee Williams Family Cemetery on Lovers Lane in Bastrop Texas on Saturday, December 16th at 10:30 a.m.
