Tonie Joe Fernandez

Tonie “Tonè” Fernandez, 57, of Del Valle, Texas passed away on December 27th, 2022.

Tone was born in Brownwood, Texas to Amparo and Erineo Fernandez on June 6th, 1965.

He attended school in Austin for only a short while, he always said he might have not been very book smart,  but he was smart with his hands. From a young age he learned to do many things: electrical work, carpentry, plumbing and mechanics. He also worked very hard in the family’s trucking business. Tonè was truly a jack of all trades.

He absolutely loved to dance; he was an amazing dancer. He enjoyed listening to Tejano music and stories, he took every opportunity to get dressed up in his hat and boots. He adored his children and grandchildren. His main goal in life was to ensure his children and parents were taken care of, and indeed he did.

Tonè is survived by his parents; children: Isabel Morales, Anthony Fernandez, Elicia Fernandez, Ariana Fernandez-Dikert, Arilena Fernandez and Ariceli Fernandez; grandchildren:  Aaleyssa Fernandez, Maritza Fernandez, Henry Martinez-Fernandez, Avery Sanchez, Alfie Sanchez and Joshua Salazar; siblings; Irene Fernandez-Hernandez, Fernando Fernandez, Jamie Fernandez, Piedad Fernandez-Alfaro, Norma-Fernandez-Fling and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Hwy 71 East, Bastrop, Texas with interment following services at Upper Cedar Creek Cemetery, Cedar Creek, Texas.
