Tommy Jackson Karnes

Tom Karnes, 76 years of age, was called home by the Lord, our Father, on February 19, 2020.

His journey first began in San Saba, Texas on March 24, 1943, born to Betty Joe and Wilba Karnes. He was the second of four children including Wilba Joe Karnes, Betty Fay Dufner Wallace and Jennifer Harkey.

Tom was a devout Christian and took pride in sharing his faith with others. He was a man of many trades often finding himself in careers centered around the service of others. These included being a veteran of the armed forces, firefighter, pastor and entrepreneur.

Tom also had the gift for relationship-building and established many valuable friendships through the years. Though he prided his accomplishments, what Tom cherished above all else was time spent with family. Tom was happiest doing things like camping, golfing, playing games and cracking jokes in the company of those he loved most. To know Tom was to know laughter, support and friendship. Often remembered for his good nature, witty humor and loving heart.

Tom was also a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. A lifetime of cherished memories are deeply instilled in those left behind. Tom is survived by his loving wife Linda; children: Pamela and David Smith, Cindy and Troy Prater, Lori and Robert Hughes, Kerensa Keith; grandchildren: Bobby, Cody, Ashley and Alex, Caleb, Dalton, Cassidy and Nathan, Heather and Drew, Jenna and Shelby; great grandchild: Lucy. Tom is preceded in death by his late wife Judy Lynch Karnes and his son Tommy Duane Karnes.
