Thomas Ryan, 56, of Cedar Creek, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in Austin, Texas.
Tom (Tommy to his nearest and dearest) was born in Germany to Marliese Hellmeier and Anthony Ryan on May 16, 1963. He went to school in Farmington, CT, graduating from Farmington High School in 1981. He married his soulmate, Kim Doeryan, on June 20 th , 2005.
He worked as a Tool & Die Maker, a career he was incredibly proud of and which brought him great happiness. He worked as an Engineering Technician for FlowBelow Aero in Austin for the past four years.
Tommy was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, shooting, hiking, and ATV and motorcycle riding. He loved his Triumph and KLR650 (camo painted of course) equally. Tom was a talented artist, very creative, and could do anything he set his mind to. Tom was the proud papa of four fur babies – Evinrude / Jabutti / Corkscrew, Vato / El Vato Loco, Heyoka / Yoka / Yokalicious, and Kit / Kit Carson. He was most proud of his loving marriage, and was a wonderful protector of and provider for his wife.
Tommy loved to laugh and make others do the same. He was known as the wind-up toy to his closest friends – just wind him up and watch him go. We all have funny stories about Tommy, whether about the yellow swim trunks, baking horse poop, tubing, taking the easy way through a maze, being a dang Yankee, or whatever your particular memory is. But most laughter was from us getting our chops busted by him and busting his right back.
Tom is survived by his wife, Kim Doeryan, his mother, Marliese Ryan, his sisters Maureen Frink and Bettina Reagan, the Frink Family (Doug, Ryan, Colin, and Chloe), his niece Sammie Krawshuk and grand-nephew, Trevor Blakley, and his nephew, Jesse McDaid.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Ryan.
Memorials may be given to Robertson County Veterinary Services (3206 Highway 6, Hearne, TX 77859, 979-279-9201) for the benefit of Urgent Animals of Hearne, Robertson County.
The family of Tom wishes to thank Austin EMS, Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, but most especially Roberto Urista and Mark House, who tried so hard to bring him back. He will be missed by all who knew him.
