Terry Nagle Roberts, age 82, of Bastrop, Texas passed away October 14, 2021.
Terry was born in Oklahoma to Ann Gomez and Cyrus Lenton Kendall. He attended Oklahoma Christian University. While attending college he met and married Alice Hudson.
He worked various jobs during his lifetime. He is a Navy Veteran and was active between the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was a detective for the Pinkerton National Detective Agency. Later he established his own security company with detectives, guards, and burglar alarms. He developed an electronic locking system for Southwestern Bell. Terry sold that business and traveled with his wife full time to art shows for 7 years. While traveling with his wife’s art business he entered his own artwork and won 1 st place in the Abilene Texas Art Show in 1973. As the family grew, he managed a boating marina and then a wood working shop. He later drove diesel rigs for several years. Later, he spent the last part of his work time in maintenance for apartments and homes. Terry retired in his mid-70’s.
Terry loved the Lord and loved it when the Lord showed him someone to pray for. He loved his children and would even tell strangers about them. He loved to garden and waiting for the first ripe fruit. He was fond of animals and befriended and fed stray cats. He loved delivering food to food bank recipients.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ann and Ross Roberts, his birth father Cyrus Kendall, daughter Nicole Roberts and his two brothers Richard Roberts and Charles Roberts.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Alice Roberts, his four daughters; Shawna Young, Anna Gotcher (Robert), Melisa Mayfield and Stephanie Cavalier (Joshua), his four grandchildren; Elijah, Malia, Nicole, Benjamin and several kitty cats.
A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 P.M. Friday, October 29, 2021, at Celebration Community Church, 287 FM 20, Bastrop, Texas 78602. He had a private burial at Old Red Rock Cemetery.
