Tammy Lynn Notley, of Austin, TX, passed away on September 1 st , 2021 in Bastrop, TX after a lengthy and courageous battle against breast cancer.
Tammy was born in Waco, TX to Sandra and James (Rick) Ferguson on April 29 th , 1968. She went to school at Cy-Fair High School in Cypress, TX. She graduated from La Tourneau University with her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Tammy was encouraging, loving, kind, beautiful and above all else, feisty. She was always so funny, finding humor in all things, bringing light to darkness. You knew you were special once you received your Notley appointed nickname.
Tammy loved her family deeply. As the big sister, she was fiercely protective, very motherly, and always willing to give advice. She cheered the loudest in support of her sisters. When the sister were together there was tons of laughter and usually it was because Tammy was telling a dramatically hilarious story. She loved her nephew and nieces like they were her own. She answered to the oddest nicknames give to her by the nephews like Aunt Man, and Peebo. Tammy was always seeking out ways to help her family. She talked about buying her mom a car or doing anything she could to make her parents life easier.
For over 10 years, she worked at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) as an Executive Assistant in Information Technology. Her team loved her energy, infectious laugh and enthusiasm for coordinating volunteer events. She had a unique way of noticing when someone was having a bad day and would reach out to offer her support. She was a beloved team member and made lifelong friendships with many of her coworkers
She also had a deep love for life including fly fishing, volunteering for SPCA and Central TX Lab rescue, Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC), and Casting for Recovery. She loved to participate in 5k fun runs with friends. She was beautiful inside and out, and that led her to be a model for the Komen Art Bra project, benefiting BCRC.
She is survived by her Pride and Joy, her greatest accomplishment (her words), her daughter Isabella Notley. She is also survived by sisters Marie Meredith, Jeanette Rodriguez, Brenda Ferguson-Thomas, Debra Barrera, parents James (Rick) and Sandra Ferguson. Her nieces and nephews, Preston, Jordan, Ariel, Alexa, Jacob, Ryan, Hayden, Ian, Jon Brandon, Elora, Kaelyn, Abigail.
Tammy is preceded in death by sister Rachel Ferguson, father Thomas Torres, Uncle Ronnie Torres, Grandparents Ray Torres, Mary Lou, David Lundsford, Mary and Jay Spurlin, Lavern Ratliff, James Ferguson, Aunt Tonda James.
