It is with great sadness we announce the recent passing of Steven Leslie Ashlock in Austin, TX.
Steve, 65, of Bastrop, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020.
Steve was born in Flint, Michigan to Daphne and Troy Ashlock on March 4, 1955. He went to school in Swartz Creek, MI. He married Claudia Ashlock on October 5,1979 in Neu-Ulm, Germany. Recently, they celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary.
For nearly 20 years Steve worked as a supply sergeant for the United States Army. During his service, Steve was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Good Conduct Medal.
In addition, Steve displayed his array of talents and skills as a builder, car hauler, landscaper, and supply manager for various companies and institutions --- including the University of Texas at Austin.
He enjoyed restoring his classic 1972 Camaro, building decks and other renovations to his home, rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns, spending time with his wife, Claudia, and taking long walks with his dog, Max, and, of course, spoiling his granddaughter, Madison.
Steve is survived by his wife Claudia Ashlock; his sons Christopher, Nicholas, and Tyler Ashlock; his younger brother Gary Ashlock; and his granddaughter Madison Ashlock.
A memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, November 2nd at Providence Funeral Home in Bastrop, TX.
