Stella Cervantes

Stella Perez Cervantes, 81, died at St. David’s Hospital in Austin, Texas, on Friday, September 6, 2019.  Stella was born in Taylor, Texas, on August 28, 1938, to Frank Perez and Anastasia Buentello.   Stella grew up in Taylor, Texas, and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School.   For 57 years, she was married to Johnny Juarez Cervantes, who predeceased her in February, 2018.  Stella was a homemaker and mother to her four children.  Stella was an avid reader and had numerous hobbies.  She loved listening to music, photography, and video editing.  Stella is survived by her children Johnny Jr. and Freddie Lutz; Diane Richard and husband Coral; David Cervantes and Gina Guerrero; and Anastasia (Anna) Cervantes.  Stella has two granddaughters, Kelsey Richard and Christina Richard (Larry Ybarra), and two great-grandsons, Ayden and Noah. Stella is also survived by her sisters Inez Perez, Maggie Alvarado, Janie Brock, and Lupe Ramirez.  Stella was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Cookie Tovar, Mary Dominguez, Jessie Perez, and Tony Perez.  A viewing will be held at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 11, 2019,  from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a brief service beginning at 10 AM at the funeral home.  A Committal Service will be held at Alta Vista Cemetery in Bastrop, TX at 12:30 PM on that same day.
