Silbiano Gonzales Sr.

Silbiano Gonzales Sr., 68, of Red Rock, TX, went to be with his compadres in Heaven on June 15, 2019.

Silbiano was born on May 4, 1951 in Austin, TX to Felipe and Marcos (Mendieta) Gonzales. He married Adela Vigil on December 20, 1969 in Austin, TX, at San Jose Catholic Church. Together they raised three children, Silbiano Jr., Amy, and Sharon. Silbiano was a man of many hidden skills, self-taught at a young age. He took after his father as a skilled craftsman. There was nothing he wouldn’t seek to learn whether it was mechanizing or financial services.

He is preceded in death by parents, Felipe and Marcos (Mendieta) Gonzales; brother, Guadalupe Gonzales; and compadres, Carlos Nerio, Louis (Adeline) Robles, Fred Alejos, and Mary Cisneros.

Silbiano is survived by his wife of 49 years, Adela V. Gonzales; son, Silbiano V. Gonzales, Jr. and wife Suzanna; daughters, Amy Quinonez and husband, Kenneth, and Sharon Gonzales and boyfriend, Guillermo Espinoza, Jr.; grandchildren, Phillip Matthew Gonzales, Marcos Quinonez, Fernando Quinonez, and Aiden Quinonez;  lifelong compadres, Andrew (Olivia) Maldonado, John (Elida) Garcia, Natividad (Mary) Guerrero, and Janie Nerio; siblings, Joe (Rita) Gonzales, Johnny Gonzales, Candelario Gonzales, Frank Gonzales, Clemente Gonzales and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Highway 71 East, Bastrop, TX 78602. Rosary will be celebrated and recited by lifelong friend, Deacon Richard Botello, at 7:00 p.m. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4045 FM 535, Bastrop, TX (Rockne)78602, on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Mass will be recited at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Phillip Gonzales, Marcos Quinonez, Fernando Quinonez, Aiden Quinonez, Jose Vigil Jr., James Shannon, Jose Davila, Jesus Vigil, Rey Narvaez, and Jose Marcos Gonzales.

A reception will be held following the interment at The American Legion, Post 533, 3003 Loop 150 East, Bastrop, TX.
