Shirley Marshall Housey

Shirley Joan Marshall Housey was called Home September 27, 2021.

Shirley was born February 1, 1948 in Fort Worth, TX to Bill and Elfreda Marshall.  She graduated Riverdale High School in Jefferson Parish, LA.  She married Bill Housey on March 31, 1967, in Livingston, Alabama.

She dedicated 54 years of her life to being a loyal housewife, devoted Mom, and keeper of the family hearth.  During her sojourn here she always put others before herself and strove to provide a guiding compass for those around her, all while humbly toiling in the background without fanfare and false accolades.

She genuinely relished every second spent with her family, and thought her job was done if we had a smile on our faces.  She enthusiastically attacked jigsaw puzzles, enjoyed watching movies, conquering solitaire, reading, going out to eat, and cooking the best meals for her family that she loved with everything she had.  Her love continues still now as she rooted and established her family in love to have power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Shirley is survived by her husband Bill, two sons William and Andy, and brother Kenneth Marshall of Mandeville, LA.

Shirley is preceded in death by her daughter Kari and parents Bill and Elfreda Marshall.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm on October 3, 2021 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Highway 71 East, Bastrop, Texas 78602.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on October 4, 2021 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Highway 71 East, Bastrop, TX 78602, with graveside services to follow at 2 pm at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Drive, Austin, TX,  78731.
