Salvador Sanchez

On the 17th of February 2024, Salvador Sanchez passed away at the age of 84 at the Christopher House Hospice center in Austin Texas.

Salvador was born on June 2nd 1939, in Doctor Arroyo, Nuevo León, Mexico to Guillermo and Clemencia Sanchez. He was 15 years old when he immigrated to the United States to never return. In the late 60’s he married Aminta Paiz in Hebbronville, Texas and later moved to Elgin.

Salvador was a life long farmer/rancher and professional fence builder. Some would say, a true cowboy.

Salvador worked for many prominent men in Elgin Texas. Such as Charles Lundgren over 30 years, Clyde Lundgren, Roy Rivers, Commissioner Gary Snowden and Judge Charlie Smith to name a few. He was an avid poker player, loved horses and had a knack for gardening.

He always lived on the border lands between this world and the next. In times where cowboys died young, he lived to be an old man, like the autumn leaves that fall after a long season.

He is survived by his Daughters Belma Lara, Stacy Rivera (Lorenzo), Leslie Sanchez (Lizandro) and step son Paul Ybarra (Lucy). Granddaughter Brandi Samaniego, Grandson Paul Erik Moreno (Shauna), Granddaughter K’quiera Daniels, Granddaughter Ayzia Daniels, Grandson Aaron Wilem Moreno, Granddaughter Zahria Daniels, Grandson Lorenzo Rivera Jr. Granddaughter Italy Rivera, Grandson Trystin Manzanares, Grandson Jordyn Manzanares, Grandson Izreal Manzanares and 7 great grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents Guillermo and Clamencia Sanchez, wife Aminta Sanchez, daughters Tracy Ann Sanchez and Brandy Denise Sanchez also Grandson Paul Brandon Moreno Jr. and Grandson in law Jose Samaniego

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday February 22, 2024 at the Providence Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas. And He will be laid to rest at the Elgin, Texas Latin Cemetery.
