Ruby Randall Matl

Ruby Randall Matl, 89, of Bastrop passed into eternal rest with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in Austin Texas.

Ruby was born in Los Angeles, California to John and Lola Smith on October 5, 1931. She married Wayne Thomas Matl February 14, 1949 in Houston, Tx.

Ruby was a very dedicated and loving wife and mother and cherished by each of them. She had a special bond that held us all together. Ruby was also a talented artist and entrepreneur. She loved spring time and working in her flower gardens. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles with her family and cooking. Her favorite book was her recipe books and was never too far from the kitchen.

Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Matl and son, Lewis McFadden. Ruby is survived by sons: Thomas Matl and wife Kathy, John Matl and wife Donna, David Matl and wife Brenda, Daniel Matl and wife Michelle, daughters: Anne Layton and Sandra Matl. grandchildren: Rachel Kradjel, Jennifer Rocha, Kristen Sinay, Vincent Matl, Katherine Layton, Matthew Matl, Christopher Matl, Miranda Matl, and Maxine Matl. great grandchildren: Jose Rocha, Sofia Rocha, Michael Kradjel and Baby Girl Sinay.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home located at 2079 Hwy 71 E Bastrop, Tx 78602.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday March 9, 2021 at Ascension Catholic Church located at 804 Pine St, Bastrop, TX 78602. Burial will follow at Matl Family Cemetery.
