Ronald Goins

March 12, 1948 — October 16, 2017

Ronald Goins, 69, of Bastrop, TX, departed this life on 10/16/2017. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Lula Mae & Thomas Goins. He served in the US Air Force with the 1st Mobile Communications Group & the 12th AF Tactical Air Command, retiring as a Staff Sergeant. Ronald was a master craftsman, Custom Builder, furniture maker, electrician, & photographer. He earned his Black Belt in Karate, competing all over Asia. Ronald was loved by so many, leaving lasting impressions on all. People would greet him by name after many years apart & tell stories of how they met & their adventures. Babies & children loved him. He was always ready to help friends & family. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Gary, his sister Linda, & nephew James. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Tracy Goins; his son Demetrius Goins & wife Francisca Arana; grandchildren Gabriel & Nayali; sister Betty Bell, all of Austin, Texas. Sisters Yvonne Walker of Brooklyn, NY, Bernadine Evans of Houston, TX & Sheila Arroyo of San Diego, CA; brother Gregory Goins of Brooklyn, NY & a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends also remain.  Ronald’s Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm Monday, 10/23/2017 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home (2079 TX-71, Bastrop, Tx 78602). Public viewing will be held before the service from 12 - 2 pm. Interment after cremation will be held on Friday 10/27 at 1:30 pm in Austin at Assumption Cemetery (3650 S. IH35 Frontage Rd, 78704) with full military honors.  Luncheon will follow at Friendly Will Missionary Baptist Church, 7501 Blessing Ave., Austin, TX 78752.
