Ronald Neff Bryant, 72, of Bastrop Texas

Passed away on March 20th, 2023, at his residence in Austin, Texas.

Ronald was born in Bastrop, TX to Katie and Pat Bryant on December 5th, 1950.

He attended and was part of the last class to graduate from an All-African American segregated educational institution, Emile High School in Bastrop Texas in 1969, where he excelled in Tennis. He went on to attend The University of Texas in Austin, and there he graduated with honors. While residing in New York, Ronald also attended the University of New York.

He married Doristene Brown of Giddings, TX on May 7th, 1976. They enjoyed a beautiful wedding ceremony in Austin, TX. To this union, one son was born, Roderick Jerome.

For many years Ronald held various retail management positions, one of which included the major convenience store chain of 7-11.

He served with honor in the United States Air Force for 10 years as a Personal Technician Staff Sergeant. Ronald was awarded many service accolades including good conduct, longevity service, commendation, and the national defense service medal. He served in tours that allowed him to travel the world from Japan to the Philippines, Griffiss Air Force base in New York, and was finally stationed back home at Bergstrom Air Force base in Austin, TX. He received an Honorable discharge upon separating from the Air Force on June 1st, 1979.

Ronald was known for his style and being a “sharp dresser.” He enjoyed listening to all genres of music, with his favorite being the Motown classics. During his free time, he enjoyed dancing, watching movies, spending time with family and friends and traveling the world.

Ronald was preceded in death by his father Pat Bryant and mother Katie Bryant – Jackson

Ronald leaves to cherish his memory; spouse Doristene Brown-Bryant of Fort Worth, TX.; a son Roderick Bryant (Shauna) of Fort Worth, TX., a daughter TaMrya Henderson of GA.; siblings, Patrick Bryant

(Norise) of Bastrop, TX., Shirley Diane Bryant of CA., Carl Bryant of Bastrop, TX., Karen Bryant of CA., and Regina Jackson-Watson of Bastrop, TX.

The Bryant family wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to family and friends for their prayers and support.

Special thanks are extended to the Bastrop Providence Funeral Home for their care and professionalism.

The Memorial will be held at Fairview Cemetery 1307 State Hwy 95 in Bastrop TX, on May 5th, 2023 at 3pm.
