Robert Eugene Wendel

Robert Eugene Wendel age 51 years of Cedar Creek, Texas passed away to his heavenly home on September 26, 2017. He was born to Elgin and Lillie Wendel on November 4, 1965 in Kerrville, Texas. Robert was a resident of Cedar Creek, Texas and will be missed dearly by family, friends and co-workers. He was a great man with a big heart. Robert enjoyed trail riding in his younger years, loved to fish and loved to grill on his cast iron collection along with his self-made bar-b-que pit. Robert along with his brother Don and nephew Chase had just returned home from a week-long fishing trip at Inks Lake State Park where he enjoyed fishing, grilling and spending time with family including his Aunt Chere Durst and cousin April Durst. Robert is survived by his loving parents Elgin and Lillie Wendel of Cedar Creek, Texas. Brother Don Wendel of Dale, Texas; Sister Beverly Wendel Foust of Cedar Creek, Texas and sister Gina Wendel Glass of Bastrop, Texas. Grandmother Lena Janelle Sewell of Lockhart, Texas along with Aunt Bernice Bates and family of Bandera, Texas and Aunt Chere Durst and family of Fredericksburg, Texas and Uncle Richard Sewell of Lytton Springs, Texas. He was loved by many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents Elgin and Norma Wendel of Fredericksburg, Texas and Grandfather James E. Sewell of Lytton Springs, Texas and nephew Hunter Wayne Wendel of Dale, Texas. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm Friday, September 29, 2017, Bastrop Providence Funeral Home.  Funeral Services are 2:00pm Saturday, September 30, 2017, Lytton Springs Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at Bunton Cemetery.
