Robert "Bob" Allen Cooper, 65, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away on April 7, 2025. Born in Gary, Indiana, to the late Richard and Dana Cooper, Bob lived a life full of adventure, creativity, and connection.
A proud veteran, Bob served in the United States Army, both stateside and in Germany. After his military service, he built a successful career as an entrepreneur, owning and operating his own moving and packing agency. His adventurous spirit took him across the globe, with travels throughout the United States, Europe, Germany, Russia, and India.
Bob had an extraordinary gift for music. A talented guitarist, he had a knack for improvisation and could find a groove and ride it for hours. He especially loved blues, gospel, and bluegrass music, and he found joy in the Austin, Texas music scene. Some of his fondest moments were spent jamming with family and friends, often accompanied by his wife Lori on her fiddle.
He also loved the outdoors, especially fishing—his favorite memories coming from trips to Alaska.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Lori Cooper (Harris); his sisters, Tina Cooper of Zephyrhills, Florida, and Margaret Outler and her husband Brad of Olathe, Kansas; his brother Richard Cooper and wife Mia of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina; his sister-in-law, Lezli Austen (Harris) and family; and brother-in-law, Johnathon Harris and family, both of Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dana Cooper, and three uncles, Scott Huddleston, Robert Smock and George Smock.
Bob will be remembered for his passion for music, his generous heart, his love for adventure, and the deep joy he brought to those around him. His spirit, laughter, and rhythm will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
