Robert Joseph Andrade, 74, of Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020 in Bastrop, Texas.
Robert was born in Fall River, Massachusetts to Joseph and Lydia Andrade on September 24 th , 1946. He graduated from Brentwood High School in Bay Shore, Long Island. He married Christine Alverson on February 14, 1988 in Austin, Texas.
He worked as an Air Traffic Controller for the Federal Aviation Administration for 42 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Air Force and was stationed in Bermuda. Robert was awarded metals including the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal as well as an award for Outstanding Unit.
He enjoyed golfing, traveling from the beaches of Mexico and Hawaii, to the powder snow of the Colorado slopes for skiing. Robert also spent time backpacking in Hoh Rainforest near Seattle, Washington as well as the San Juan Mountain Trails of Colorado and spent time in Peru.
Robert is survived by his wife, Christine; two children from a previous marriage: Robert J. Andrade II and Jacqueline Marie Andrade; sisters: Marie Giambalvo and Janet Bowker; brother, James Andrade and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, and infant daughter, Janelle Andrade.
A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at a later date.
