Richard Scott Holman

August 1, 1971 — July 6, 2017

Richard Scott Holman August 1, 1971 – July 6, 2017   Scott Holman was born in Austin, Texas to Richard Holman and Martha Sweet Manning. He was their second child and only son. He grew up between his father’s house in Bastrop, TX and his mother’s house in Waller, TX. He graduated from Bastrop High School in 1989 alongside his cousin Tonia Marie Holman. Scott was always fond of computers, board games, astronomy and physics. He majored in Physics at Austin Community College and got an Associate’s degree in 1993. He went on to the University of Texas at Austin pursuing his astronomy degree but was unable to complete because of his health.  He began his career working for Dell, he then worked for Cirrus Logic for years moving onto Silicon Labs for the past 14 years. In the mid 90’s Scott found time to open his own company that provided dial-up internet service to rural customers.  He also found time to become Cisco Certified between all of this. Scott was a true PC Gamer as his closes friends can attest to.  He was a great strategist and a great leader when it came to his campaigns.  Scott had a heart as big as the Milky Way and was extremely proud to have been born in Texas.  Science was another passion that he continued to research until his passing. His wisdom, skills and wit will be sorely missed by all who knew him.  Scott is preceded in death by both of his parents, and all of his grandparents. He is survived by his sister Melissa Holman, his aunt Karen Holman, and numerous cousins. A gathering of those who loved him will be held at his home (105 Holman Ln. Cedar Creek 78612) on Saturday, August 5 @ 2:00pm.  All are welcome.
