Richard James Allard of Bastrop Texas passed away on September 29, 2023 at the Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Richard was born in Riverside, CA to James L and Mary A (Forcier) Allard on May 14, 1946, the oldest of 5 children. He attended school at Appleton Academy in New Ipswich, NH and at the age of 19 he enlisted in the Army and served in the Vietnam war. After returning home from the war, he married Constance Everett from this union they had 1 child together Jason and Richard adopted Connie’s 3 children (Samual, Stephanie, and Jennifer). They later divorced and he married 2 more times and gained 2 more stepdaughters (Deidra and Erin). In 2004 he met Jackie Nabors who has been his life partner ever since and gained 3 more children. In 2013 Richard and Jackie took in their grandson Justin and raised him as their own from the time he was an infant.
Richard drove a concrete truck for a local Bastrop company, retiring in 2012 after 35 years. He loved riding Harley motorcycles and at Christmas time could be found dressed up as Santa Claus.
Richard is survived by his life partner of 20 years Jackie Nabors, children Jason (Piper) Allard of Newcastle WY, Justin Nabors of Bastrop TX, Stephanie Carr of Austin TX, Jennifer Smith of Hanover PA, Lisa Nabors of Bastrop TX, and Jason Nabors of Elgin TX. Two brothers Peter (Maura) Allard of Pollocksville NC, and William Allard of Lebanon OR , grandchildren Kyle Allard, Kenzee Allard, Cody Allard, Blayne Hejduk, Shannon, Jeffrey, Randy, Jason Jr, Jeremy, Emily, Shawn, Bretta, Samual, and McKenna.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents James and Mary Allard, siblings Paul Allard and Debra Allard, children Samual Allard and Larry Nabors.
Visitation will be Wednesday October 4th from 9 to 5 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home in Bastrop TX, with cremation to follow.
