Ray W. Wichmann

June 16, 1946 — June 17, 2020

Ray Wichmann, of Leander, passed away on June 17, 2020 in Round Rock, Texas.

Ray was born in Giddings, Texas to Walter and Esther Wichmann on June 16, 1946. He attended school in Bastrop and then received a basketball scholarship from Texas State University in San Marcos.

Ray married Beverly Roseberry in April of 1982.

Ray loved to hunt and fish most of his life. Ray’s son, Paul, was the pride and joy of his life; especially when he could no longer hunt or fish.

Ray had a civil service career with Government Services Administration (GSA) and Texas National Guard. After retiring from the Texas National Guard, Ray went to work for TX DOT until his retirement.

When he was a little boy, everyone called him “Ray Boy”. Later in life when he was riding in a carpool, they started calling him “Baby Ray” as he was the youngest in the carpool. Ray was a generous, and very kind man, who dearly loved his family.

Ray is survived by his son and daughter in law, Paul and Rachel Wichmann; two granddaughters, Tinzlee and Teagan; two stepsons, Jon and Scott Roseberry;  sister, Polly Frushay;  nephew, Carroll and Wendy Frushay, and their children Abbey and Amy Frushay.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Esther Wichmann and his brother in law, John Frushay.
