Randal “Randy” Clay Smith, 63, passed away in Red Rock, Texas, on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Randy was born in Austin, Texas, on December 2, 1958, to Howard and Dorothy Smith. He was the fourth oldest of six kids and the youngest son. Randy grew up in Austin and lived in Red Rock for nearly 25 years.
Randy was a dedicated worker who wholeheartedly committed to his career as a welder and plumber and enjoyed his work. He had an associates in architectural drawing and retired last year in 2021. He was an active member of the UA Local 286 Plumbers & Pipefitters of Austin, Texas, for 26 years and a member of the Pipefitters Local Union 211 pipefitters of Houston, Texas, for 6 years. His hobbies included fishing, working in the yard, gardening, traveling, and listening to music. He passed on his love of music to his girls.
Randy is survived by a host of family and friends, including his wife, Tena Roye daughters: Keisha Ramos, and husband Casey, and Bonnie Smith ; grandchildren, Olive and Jonah Ramos, and Kyomi Saldivar; sisters: Cindy Naquin, Teresa Shipwash and husband Mark, and Pam Rountree; and several nieces and nephews.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Dorothy (Simpson) Smith, brother, Ron Smith, and sister, Debra Smith
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 in the Bastrop Providence Funeral Home Chapel, 2079 Hwy 71 E., Bastrop, Texas, 78602
