Polly Ann Rasco, 71, of Bastrop passed away on Monday, May 20 st , 2019.
Polly was born on February 5 th , 1948 to William F. and Dollie Mae (Drury) King in Austin, Texas. She was one of 17 children.
Throughout her life, Polly loved to travel, whether it be to Oklahoma as a “day trip”, to “Canada Canada” when she lived in Flint, Michigan, or to Coushatta to play the penny slots. Nanny and Granny Pa were among many nicknames she was given by her loved ones over her lifetime. She had a love for many things, as she loved to look for good deals at garage sales and became the “keeper of all things.” If you needed anything, Polly would probably have it. Along with her love for things, her biggest accomplishment in this life were her children. Polly took care of everyone; that’s just how she was. She was always kind, always present, and almost always was happy. During her lifetime, she found the Lord and attended the Hornsby Bend Assembly of God in Austin until her health declined due to thyroid cancer. She lived a remarkable life. Polly will be surely and dearly missed by each and every person she blessed with her presence.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Wana Eugene Hammett; and two grandchildren, Joshua King and Sydney Davis and eleven siblings.
Polly is survived by her children, Bryan (Dorothy) King, Yvette (Tim) Batham, and Christopher Hammett; 13 grandchildren; and five siblings. Though she had many related to her by blood, she also had many related to her by heart, but none so loved than the “apple of her eye”, Keith Stone King.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, May 25 th , 2019 at Hornsby Bend Assembly of God in Austin.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christopher Hammett.
