Mary Beth Penney

Mary Beth Penney, age 81, from Pasadena, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 in Bastrop.Mary was born September 7, 1937, to Sam and Brady Slaten. She was married to Dan Penney from 1956 until 2010. Mary received a PhD in Education and  taught throughout the southwest as well as various places around the world. She taught every grade from kindergarten through graduate school. Mary was an avid reader and loved to travel. Mary is survived by her son Troy Penney, daughter Betsy Selby, granddaughters Shelby Brunson and Louisa Torrance, grandson Steven Selby, and great granddaughter Brook Brunson. A Visitation will be held at 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home.
