Mary Elaine Collins

Mary Elaine Schuette Collins passed away on May 31, 2024 surrounded by family that deeply loved her.

Mary was born May 1, 1959 to parents Leroy and Etta Schuette of Frelsburg Texas. Mary was the youngest of five children. Mary graduated from Columbus High School in 1977. She went on from there to raise a family. She would go into the workforce later in life starting out as a substitute teacher and moving into working document control and accounts payable in the law field.

Mary took pride in keeping an immaculate home, working in her flower beds and landscaping around it. Her other pride and love were being a grandmother. Whether it was playing games and doing puzzles on the floor with them, or attending their sporting events she enjoyed it all. Her other great joy was spending time at the Texas coast with her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Leroy and Etta Schuette, as well as her brother David Schuette.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Michael (Tina) Collins and James (Bethany) Collins; along with seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Leander Schuette, LeeRoy (Patricia) Schuette and sister, Lennell Michalsky; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 203 Mills Street, Smithville, Texas 78957, on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop, Texas.

She is loved and will be missed by many.
