Mark Ervin Clingan

Mark Ervin Clingan, age 70, of Cedar Creek, TX, passed away on Sept. 10, 2020 in Austin, TX.

Mark was born in Springfield, IL to Ervin Clingan and Viola Robison Clingan on July 2, 1950.  He attained his Bachelors Degree at Southern Illinois University and began his career as a Certified Public Accountant for the IRS Treasury Dept. where he worked for many years.

His wife, Vicki Manno, is a native of Texas and longtime resident of Bastrop County.

Upon retirement, Mark served as a Volunteer Firefighter in Bastrop County for several years.  He was also an accomplished carpenter who found great pleasure in crafting items of recycled fencing into beautiful furniture.

As a member of the Cedar Creek United Methodist Church, Mark shone out.  His big heart, welcoming spirit and friendly manner earned him many friends.  He taught Sunday School for several years, until his passing.  He was always ready to lend a hand where needed.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Melinda Davis, of Iowa, and his granddaughter Macy K Davis.

Mark was also stepfather to and is survived by Carrie Smith and her three children, Reagan, Carson and Hudson; daughter Meghan DeHoyos and her son Hank; son Aaron DeHoyos;  and Ariel DeHoyos, daughter of James DeHoyos.

Mark was preceded in death by his father and mother, his sister Terry Brown, his nephew Tanner Brown, and his stepson, James DeHoyos.

Visitation will be held at Providence Funeral Home of Bastrop, Monday Sept. 14, 2020 from 5pm to 7pm.

Funeral services will be held at Providence Funeral Home of Bastrop, Tuesday, 11am.

Graveside service and burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Il, with those arrangements pending.
