Maria Delaluz Hernandez

Maria De La Luz Hernandez, 63, of Weslaco, Tx, passed away on April 4, 2022, in Bastrop, Tx.

Maria was born in Weslaco, Tx, to Olga and Santiago Aguirre on November 23, 1958. She married Jesus Hernandez on May 21, 1979, in Weslaco.

She worked at the local schools in Weslaco until she moved to Bastrop where she worked at the schools in Elgin. Later she was employed for 17 years with Walmart in Bastrop.

Maria enjoyed some of the finer things in life. Getting her nails and hair done, socializing with friends at birthday parties and gatherings. She loved shopping and going out dancing but most of all she loved her family. She loved going to ceremonies for her grandkids and going to as many sporting events as she could to support her grandkids. She was their biggest fan.

Maria is survived by her spouse, Jesus and her children Jose, Jerry, and Jessica. Maria was happily married to Jesus for 43 years resulting in 3 children and 11 grandkids. She is survived by 6 sisters and 3 brothers.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Viewing will be Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 3pm-6pm the Rosary will begin at 6pm at Bastrop Providence funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 10am on April 8, 2022, at Bastrop Providence funeral home. Burial will follow at Clearview cemetery. Pallbearers will be  Jose, Jerry, Danny, Joey, Bryan, and Joseph.

Memorials may be given to Bastrop Providence funeral home.

The family of Maria wish to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Horvit, Dr Shapiro, Generation Hospice, Advance home health.

There are not enough thanks we could give to Maria’s daughter Jessica for her countless hours of tending to her mother during this trying time. Maria received the best care from her own daughter who showed diligence and unconditional love to her mother.
