Manuel de Jesus Alvarado Espino, 60 years, of Zacatecas, Mexico, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 in Austin, Texas.
Manuel de Jesus Alvarado Espino was born in El Tanger, Gral. Fco. Murguia, Zacatecas, MX. to Mr. Alfonso Alvarado and Mrs. Eulegia Espino on December 23, 1959. Jesus and Cresencia Alvarado would have celebrated 25 years of marriage on July 27, 2020, in Austin, Texas.
Manuel de Jesus worked as a shepherd herding sheep from the age of 6 to 16 years of age. Jesus then moved to Guadalajara, Mexico where he worked as a trailer loader, and making candies such as pumpkin Mexican candies. Then in 1983, he moved to Austin, Texas where he joined Cristo Rey Parish community and became a parishioner since 1995.
Manuel de Jesus enjoyed cooking especially cooking for his family. He also loved landscaping, gardening, and always has an appetite for learning new things whether it was a new recipe, construction, landscaping, or anything that can be created with his hands. Jesus was loved by many and seen as an artist, hard-working, kind, honest, and accountable person. He worked for Bombay Restaurant for 15 years, Walmart, San Antonio, TX Vista College. His last job was at Crocket High School where he spends the last 12 years of his life serving and supporting the school staff. His greatest achievement was learning to be a better person and to always give his best. Therefore, he sought to help himself and signed up for a course to learn how to stop domestic violence. And on September 11th of 1997, he finished with this course.

Manuel de Jesus, “Mi Viejito” always treated me like a real lady, he would always bring me flowers on special occasions such as Valentine’s Day, my birthday, Mother’s Days. Or on any given day that he saw flowers at the store, and he knew I would love them.

Manuel deJesus is survived by spouse Crescencia Alvarado, 2 daughters-Diana Galindo Rodriguez, and Teresa Alvarado. 3 step-children-Mike Nanyes, Michael S. Nanyes and Kimberly Nanyes. Grandchildren- Paulina Hernandez, Emma, Jasmin, Eric and Emily Rodriguez; Skylar and Travis Lauchsinger; Michael Steven Jr. and Anaya Nanyes Paloma, Esteban and Viviana Nanyes, Macario and Nikolaus Madarang, and Scooter M Lozano Jr.
Manuel de Jesus is survived by 6 brothers- Jose, Salvador, Santos, Ignacio, Benito, Ramon & sister Victoria Alvarado Espino, and brother-in law and sisters-in-law, so many nephews, nieces, cousins, and cousins. In laws-Reynaldo Rodriguez, Jon Baeur, Christian Madarang, Celeste Nanyes, Liliana Nanyes and Scooter M Lozano.
Manuel de Jesus is preceded in death by his parents Mr. Alfonso Alvarado, Ortiz & Mrs. Eulogia Espino Huerta nephew Guadalupe Alvarado, and niece Liz Alvarado.
Visitation will be at the Bastrop Providence Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2020, followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Cristo Rey Church in Austin, Texas. Burial will follow at Upper Cedar Creek Cemetery.
