Katharine (Kit) Tucker Leamy, 62, of Red Rock, Texas, died peacefully at her home after a short illness on Monday, April 9, 2018. She was born in Tarrytown, New York on August 25, 1955. After an early childhood on the east coast, Kit spent most of her life in Texas. She married George Leamy on May 9, 1987. They shared nearly 31 years of marriage living in the Houston area before relocating to Bastrop. After the Bastrop fire destroyed their home in 2011, they moved to Red Rock, a small community that quickly became a cherished home. Kit was a writer and a published poet. She enjoyed spending time with her loyal circle of friends and going for long walks in the country with her beloved Labrador Retriever, Brad. Kit is predeceased by her infant son, Daniel Mars. She is survived by her loving husband George, her parents Robert and Anne Tucker of Paget Bermuda, her sisters, Rebecca Holliman of Bolton, Connecticut and Beth Morrow of Sugar Land, Texas. She is also survived by brothers in law Mike Holliman and Bob Morrow as well as her dearly loved nieces and nephews. A celebration of Kit’s life will be held on Monday, April 16, at Bastrop Christian Church, 1106 Church Street, with a visitation from 10:00-10:45 and service at 11:00. Following a graveside ceremony, a reception will be held at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kit’s name to the Bastrop Christian Church.
