Julius Henry Darilek

Julius Henry Darilek, 87, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2022.

Julius was born in Moulton, Texas, on October 29, 1934. He met Yvonne Goertz, who would later become his beloved wife, at the 1953 Rockne Bazaar dance when they were both 18 years old.  They looked forward to Saturday evenings and heading to Watterson Hall where they would dance the nights away, both before and after they married in 1957. They were married until her passing in 2018.  Julius honorably served in the National Guard.  He had a successful career in Sales at Frito-Lay and was recognized for his dedication and top sales achievements during his long tenure with the company.  Julius and Yvonne lived in Austin until 1981 then moved to Rockne, Texas where they built a home on the Goertz family farm.  Julius loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, camping, playing dominoes, farming and being a good steward of his land.  He enjoyed golfing and all the fun times with his buddies in the Bastrop Seniors Golf Association.

Julius was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Yvonne Goertz Darilek; parents, Emil and Adela Kocian Darilek; parents-in-law, Fred and Mary Goertz; brother, Charles Darilek; brothers-in-law Buddy Harris, Bob Bishop, Frederick Goertz, Don Johnson, Stephen Goertz, and Jim Goertz; and sisters-in-law, Joann Johnson, Isabel Bishop, Mary Jane Goertz, Claudette Griffith and Jeanne Goertz.

Julius is survived by his two sons, Craig (Vangie) and Steve; daughter, Sheila Moore (Kenny); grandchildren, Tamara Chambless (Dane), Jessica Alfred (Drew), Brent Moore (Erika), and Jay Darilek; great-grandchildren, Callen and Trevor Chambless, and Embry Alfred; brothers-in-law, Johnny Goertz, Dan Gertz, and Bobby Goertz (Lori); and sisters-in-law, Annabel Harris, Alinda Darilek, Ovon Goertz, Rose Parris, Joy Goertz, Barbara Goertz, and Sandra Higgins (Felix).
