Joyce Elaine Bishop

Joyce Elaine Bishop of Bastrop, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022.

Joyce Elaine (Edge / Gilchrest) Bishop was born on December 27, 1957, to Lyle Edge and Ida (Barber) Edge in Blanco, Texas. Joyce spent most of her childhood in Blanco, attending Blanco I.S.D. for 12 years and graduating in 1976. Joyce married Tommy Gilchrest in 1979 and they were blessed with two daughters, Mindy Marie, and Megan Michelle. Joyce was dedicated to her family and received great pleasure in watching her children grow up and start families of their own. Upon Tommy's death, Joyce was blessed to find love again with Randy Bishop. They had 14 years together.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle, and Ida Edge, and her first husband, Tommy Gilchrest.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Bishop, her two daughters, Mindy Leasman, and husband Chris; Megan Pelt and husband Hunter; four grandchildren - Kyndal, Kanin, Hayden, and Holden. She is also survived by her sisters - Kathy Anderson and Karen Brown  and brother, Kenneth Edge, and his wife Denise. Numerous stepchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022  at Heart of Texas Church of Christ, 652 TX-304, Bastrop, TX 78602
