John Edward Carroll, 62, of Bastrop, TX, died unexpectedly at his home on April 28th, 2023. John was born in Chicago, Illinois to Barbara and John Carroll on January 18th, 1961. He went to school in Palatine, Illinois and graduated from Tulane University. John worked for MLB.com scoring games for the Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants. He loved baseball and enjoyed taking his sons to games. He was a dedicated and loving father and friend to many. John loved the culture of New Orleans and attending the Jazz Festival yearly. He also enjoyed spending time with his two goats, Pickles and Skittles. John is survived by his two beloved sons, Joshua Dag Carroll and Dashiell Levi Carroll, and his niece Catherine Chivian. John is preceded in death by his father, John David Carroll, his mother Barbara Marie Carroll and his sister Kathleen M. Carroll. One of John’s greatest passions was watching his boys compete in FIRST Robotic competitions.
