Obituary for Joe Frank Brothers, III Joe Frank Brothers, III, 71, of Bastrop, TX, passed away on June 27, 2023, in Bastrop, TX. Joe Frank Brothers (Frank) was born in El Paso, TX, to Joe Frank Brothers, MD and Anne Freeman Brothers on January 11, 1952. He went to school at the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. Frank worked as an independent landscaper, taught elementary school in Bastrop, TX, and after retiring from teaching he gave his time to Habitat for Humanity and the Humane Society. He remained unmarried. Frank was an avid musician, playing bass guitar for multiple bands in Austin, TX, and he loved composing and arranging music and working in his yard. Frank is survived by his older sister, Karen A. Bearor, PhD, of Tallahassee, FL, and Thomas Milton Brothers and his wife Jean, of Lorena, TX, as well as many nieces and nephews living in the Central Texas area. Frank is preceded in death by his parents and his younger sister, Debbie Shehorn, of Riesel, TX. There will be private family memorial. Memorials may be given in his name to Habitat for Humanity of Austin, TX, and/or Bastrop County Humane Society.
