Jeffrey Collin Selby, age 55, of Smithville, Texas, passed away on December 29 in the year of our Lord, 2022. Jeffrey was born on November 9, 1967 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Virgil Lester Selby and Betty Carol Martin Selby. He went to school in Samuel Clemens Schertz, Texas. He married the love of his life, Charmaine Daayata-Selby on November 20, 2015 in San Marcos, Texas. He worked as a Material Logistic Specialist for American Airlines for 33 years. Jeff loved to fly and all things planes. He was a private pilot, owned a plane for several years, a Flight crew member Flagship Detroit DC-3 and active with that foundation. He loved his cat Turbo and the University of Texas at Austin. Jeff and his wife Charmaine loved to travel with their pets. He was a jazz drummer and loved jazz music and they loved to try different kinds of food. Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Virgil and his mother, Betty Carol and his beloved cat, Turbo. Jeffrey is survived by his beloved wife, Charmaine, his Aunts Darlene and Violet, and Uncle Glen. He has many cousins that loved him as well. Destry Selby, whom Jeff grew up with, as close as a brother can be. He leaves behind his beloved furbabies: dogs Katika, Chuchu, Daisy and Geddy, cats Kali and Ashley. Jeff leaves behind many friends he made over the years that will dearly miss him. Funeral services will be held 11AM on January 14, 2023 at the Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, followed by a food gathering at American Legion Post 533: Bastrop, Texas. Instead of flowers, Jeff would hope that you would do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for some poor and unfortunate soul in his name.
