Gloria Cardenas Gonzales, 71, of Bastrop, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday February 19th. She was born in San Angelo, Texas on January 15, 1947 to Felipe and Maria Cardenas. She was married to Andres Gonzales on March 22, 1965. Gloria worked for the Bastrop School District for many years as a custodian and in her spare time she loved to garden. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Felipe and Maria Cardenas; sister, Julia Sercos of San Angelo, Texas; two brothers, Felipe Cardenas of Greeley, Colorado and Freddy Cardenas of San Angelo, Texas. Gloria is survived by her husband of 53 years, Andres Gonzales; two daughters Cynthia Gonzales and Victoria Capuchino; sister Emma Cardenas of San Angelo, Texas; grandchildren Adrianna Hernandez, Andres Hernandez Jr. and Selena Casas. As well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00pm, Thursday, February 22, 2018. Funeral Services will be 10:00am Friday, February 23, 2018, Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Phelan Cemetery. Pallbearers are as follows: Andres Hernandez Jr. (honorary), Adam "Chango" Cardenas, Eric Cardenas, Christopher David Cardenas, Philip Cardenas, Hector Zapata, Frank Gonzales, and Robert Ryan. The family would like to give a special thanks to Cherrie Sanchez and niece Blossom Sanchez, for the many years of support, love, and care.
