Gloria would like everyone to know her work here is done. With a shout from our Lord, it was an offer she couldn't refuse.

Nothing to think twice about. Streets of gold, colors we can't imagine, pain and sorrow free, reunion with family and friends she hasn't seen for quite awhile and the best part of her new permanent residence... Glorifying Our Mighty Savior all the day long, well she just couldn't say no. And while she waits for us to join her one day, she'll be working on her beautiful garden and waiting for the rest of us to join her one day.

Gloria Cardona of Bloomington, TX went to be with the Lord on Sept 8, 2023 with her family by her side.

She was born in Austin on June 26, 1946 to Alex and Olivia Rivas and raised in Bastrop, TX. She had a passion for gardening, fishing and spending time with her family. At the age of 19, she met the love of her life Hector Cardona at a movie theater in Dimmitt, TX. After dating only six months she knew he was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with and they married in 1965.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 57 years, her three sons Hector (Aida), Herman (Melinda) and Jason Cardona..

Seven sisters and three brothers, Becky (Mike), Rachel (Gary), Estella, Norma (Santiago), Ruth, Esther, Carolyn, Noe (Esther), Alex (Perry) and Ray. One grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gloria is preceded in death by both her parents and two brothers Robert and Arthur Rivas.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 14 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Bastrop Providence Funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am Friday, September 15. Burial to follow at Phelan Cemetery.

The family of Gloria would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Methodist Hospital San Antonio. We are grateful for all you did and for never giving up.
