Genebeba "Geneva" Arriaga Genebeba Arriaga, also known as "Geneva" Arriaga passed away December 20, 2017 at the age of 90. She was born on April 30, 1927 in George West, TX to Ramon and Yerenia Zapata. Geneva was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great grandmother. She enjoyed sitting on her porch swing in the mornings with her coffee and talking on the phone with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her step mother, Chrestina Zapata; five brothers, Trinedad Zapata, Daniel Zapata, Thomas Zapata, Eugenio Zapata Sr. and Ramon Zapata, Jr.; three sisters, Lena Cabrera, Maria Luz Zapata, and Maria Magdalena Jacinto; one son Juan Leal, and one grandson, Christopher Magdalena Jacinto; one son Juan Leal, and one grandson, Christopher Leal. She is survived by her loving family: daughters, Florenca (Mencha) Leal of George West, Irene Juarez of Bastrop, Anita Reyes (Santos) of Bastrop, Sylvia Morrison (Leroy) of Lagrange, and Alicia Hunt (Michael) of Lagrange; sons, Tomas Leal (Rachel) of Austin, Domingo Leal (Loude) of Austin, Aniseto Leal, Jr. (Adelina) of Bastrop, Liborio Leal (Debbie) of Austin, Ray Leal (Isabel) of Bastrop and Jose Leal of Weatherford; sisters, May Guerrero (Joe) of Pasadena, CA., Rosa Barboza of George West, Natalie Castaneda of George West, Becky Gamboa (Alfred) of San Antonio, and Bennie Castaneda (Arnoldo) of Victoria; brothers, Richard Zapata (Mary Lou) of George West and David Zapata of Houston; 27 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Providence Funeral Home, 2079 TX Hwy 71, Bastrop, TX, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm; where a vigil for the deceased and a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held 10:00am Thursday, January 4, 2018, Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date.
