Freddie Lee Willie Jr, of Rosanky, TX passed away at the age of 40 on August 1, 2024, in his home surrounded by his wife, children and best friend. Freddie was born in Austin, TX to Freddie and Sherron Willie Sr on October 5, 1983. He attended Bastrop ISD and graduated from Bastrop High School in May 2002. Freddie married his high school sweetheart Holly Witherspoon on August 9, 2003. Their love was unbreakable as they held onto each other until the very end, along with their three children. Freddie was a family man through and through and he loved his family very deeply. He became a mechanic early on in life and right after high school he started working at Longhorn International as a diesel mechanic where he was promoted to military contract supervisor. He later transferred to the City of Austin where he worked in the Fleet Services “on the hill” as a technician on diesel engines. He excelled in his position and was promoted to Service Consultant at Service Center 13. His illness caused him to leave his career before he intended to. He was a hard worker and truly a one-of-a-kind man who loved his job and supporting his family. He worked hard and played even harder. Freddie was an avid outdoorsman. Depending on the season you could find him either sitting in a deer stand, a sunflower field hunting dove, on the banks of the Colorado River hunting ducks, running through the fields hunting wild hogs, sitting in a turkey blind, on a varmint hunt with friends and/or fishing. He also really enjoyed coaching his children in ALL things they loved which most of them were at the baseball/softball fields. He was ALWAYS present. He was also a DO IT ALL kind of guy in which there was NOT a single thing he did NOT know how to do! He was always repairing someone’s vehicle, helping someone fix something, building something or just teaching his children how to do something and achieve their dreams. He was a wonderful father, husband, son, teacher, and an all-around amazing role model. He was never light on the side of friends, and he was liked and respected by everyone who encountered him. Freddie was diagnosed with Anaphylactic Astrocytoma (brain cancer) on May 26, 2017 at 33 years old and even through multiple procedures and trials he never gave up and continued to amaze the doctors and nurses after his diagnosis that only gave him a few years to live. He surpassed them all. He was a fighter, and he never once complained about pain or his sickness and kept a smile on his face throughout his journey. Freddie is survived by his beloved wife Holly Willie and their children, son Briar Willie and daughters Peighton and Hayden Willie. His caring parents, Freddie Willie, Sr. and Sherron Willie. Sister, Allison Willie (husband Brazos). Grandparents, Rudolph Willie Jr and Ollie Jean Willie and Mattie Bartlett and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Freddie is preceded in death by Grandfather William Wright, Step-Grandfather Bob Bartlett, Aunts Connie Wright, and Charlene Wilhelm. Even though he no longer walks among us his memory will forever be cherished and he will never be forgotten. The family will host a visitation from 5:00pm – 8:00pm Friday, August 9, 2024, at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 State Hwy 71 Bastrop, TX 78602.
