Florence Elizabeth Harkey

Florence Elizabeth Spencer Harkey, 76, of La Grange, Texas passed away on Monday May 17 in Bastrop, Texas.

Florence Elizabeth Harkey was born in Pottsville, Arkansas to Ruth Marie Burnett Spencer and Adam Daniel Boone Spencer. She attended school in Lamar, Arkansas.

Florence married Floyd King Harkey of London, Arkansas on December 8, 1959 in Johnson County Arkansas.

She owned Beth’s Hair Studio in Lodi, California. After she moved back to Texas, she provided private home health care services and helped with hospice care. Her clients loved her.

Beth was very social and enjoyed being with her friends and neighbors, she was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. She also enjoyed many activities such as gardening, having coffee with her family, sewing, quilting, and art which included oil painting, watercolor, and pastel painting. She loved going to various art classes and learning new things.

We miss you much and look forward to seeing you again as the resurrection hope promises in the Bible. (Job 14:14,15) Until then we say, “See you tomorrow!”

Florence is survived by Sherry Harkey Naumann & Wesley Lee Naumann, John King Harkey, Stephanie Harkey Hensley, Dora Hodges & Jeff Hodges, Helen Sparks and husband William Earl Sparks, Margaret and Husband Christopher Rolcole, Dianne Renfro, Donna Ruth Manis &Dennis Manis, Eddie Anthony, Terry Anthony. Grandchildren: Candace Naumann, Johnathan Brunner, Amber, Stephanie, John, & Spencer Harkey. Great Grandchildren: Saint Aric’Syn Naumann, Paige Aimsley Naumann, Jaylon DeShawn Strambler, Brandon Lee Strambler, Junelle Ferguson. Nieces & Nephews: Angie, Susie, Henry, Boyce Lloyd, Adam Daniel Boone, Joyce, Tony, April, Anton, Regina, Joe, Crystal, Joshua, Travis, Heather, Kim, Kenya, Tracy, Jason, & James Burnett.

Beth is preceded in Death by: Adam Daniel Boon Spencer and Ruth Marie Spencer, Burnetta Delores Spencer, & Eric Shawn Naumann, and Bill Simonson her long time companion and friend..
