Emma V. Rios

Emma Teresa Rios went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the age of 82. There she will be reunited with her father, Isadoron Vela;  mother, Sofia Lopez and sister, Susana Briones.

Emma  retired after working for Seton Hospital ( now know as Ascension Seton) hospital for more than 35 years as an OB/GNY specialist, she aided in the birth of many children,  including a grandchild of President Lyndon B. Johnson for which service she received a plaque and letter expressing appreciation for her service.

Emma is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Richard R. Rios; three children from a previous marriage: Emma Grace Vasquez; Daniel Edward Falcon and Jason Lance Falcon; two brothers: Billy Vela and Arthur Vela; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Hwy 71 East, Bastrop Texas.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 10, 2023, at Bastrop Providence from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow services at Alta Vista Cemetery, 1800 South St. Bastrop, Texas.
