Edward Tijerina

Edward Guzman Tijerina, 68, passed away Monday, September 23, 2019 in Elgin. Texas. Edward was born in Austin, Texas to Vicente and Amelia Tijerina on April 9, 1951.  He married Hilda Garcia Tijerina on July 10, 1984 in Austin, Texas.  He was a loving, caring son, brother, husband, father/ grandfather to his children/grandchildren.  He lived life to the very fullest.  He was owner of Lil Mexican Garden Wholesale Trees and Landscaping. Him and his wife owned Lil Mexican Garden Restaurant for 17 years. Edward took pride in his work and enjoyed beautifying surrounding areas in Texas.  He was involved in varies communities in the Austin area.  Edward is survived by his wife, Hilda Garcia Tijerina of 35 years; four sons: Edward Tijerina Jr., Charlie Tijerina, Randy Tijerina and Michael Sanchez;  two daughters: Stephanie Tijerina and Evette Cortez (Adulfo);  four brothers:  Johnny Tijerina, Richard Tijerina, Vincent Tijerina (Angel) and Fermin Tijerina (Barbara); four sisters: Rachel Juarez (Frank), Carmen Tijerina (Johnny), Paula Crist and Cynthia Caballero (Joe); fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Vicente Tijerina Sr.; mother, Amelia Guzman Tijerina; brother, Felix Tijerina and sister, Crisilda Tijerina. Viewing will be held on Sunday, September 29th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with services following at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Hwy 71 East, Bastrop, Texas 78602. Interment will follow services at Alta Vista Cemetery. The Tijerina family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Medical Staff of St. David’s Central, Encompass Health Care.
