Edward Charles Erle Jr.

November 1, 1943 — November 25, 2019

Edward Charles Erle, Jr, born 11/1/1943 in Camden, NJ passed unexpectedly of a heart attack 11/25/2019.  Ed served proudly in the USAF for 22 years & enjoyed many assignments including flying recon missions during the Cold War & machining aircraft parts.  He also was a language specialist who was fluent in Arabic. After retiring he obtained his Associates Degree from South West School of Electronics and taught there for several years.  Later he joined Texas DPS as a Motorcycle Safety Instructor which allowed him to travel and make many new friends over the 20 years. After his 2 nd retirement, he continued serving by doing small handyman jobs for friends & being there in times of crisis assisting with whatever was needed from research on the internet to midnight trips to the ER.  When away from work Ed enjoyed flying model airplanes, fly fishing, visiting railroads all around the US, and playing guitar that he initially learned so he could play music with his daughter Jennifer.  His favorite holiday was July 4 th and always celebrated with a picnic for friends and family followed by watching the Bastrop fireworks.  He had a jovial laugh and a quick mind.  He will be missed.

Ed leaves behind his true love Georgia Schneider, sister Carol Walker & husband Harry, 2 daughters- Jennifer Hays & husband James, Amanda Roberts & husband Kyle, 8 grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren & many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and friends.
