Don "Donny" Phillip Hawkins

Don (Donny) Phillip Hawkins was born on August 26, 1943. He went home to be with the Lord on February 10,2022. Donny was born to James Ray Hawkins and Camilla Estelle Hawkins. He was raised in Corpus Christi, then moved to Houston, and eventually landed here in Bastrop in the early 80’s. Donny had many health struggles the last 5 years of his life. He was a strong-willed man and fought a good fight. In his later years Donny was a much more mellow person. He enjoyed the simple things in life and was incredibly happy, living out in the country, with his dog Whitey. He enjoyed visiting with friends, short family get togethers, throwing knives, and walking around the property with his dog. He was proceeded in death by his father James Ray Hawkins and his mother Camilla Estelle Hawkins, and his brother Davis Lee Hawkins Donny is survived by his son Jason Allen Hawkins: one brother Jimmy Ray Hawkins and his wife Cheree ; and one sister Angel Blackley and her husband Bill; three nephews: Ty Ray Hawkins, Timothy Hawkins and Sebastian Blackley; one niece Shanna Dorman. And we sure can’t forget his sweet canine companion Whitey. May he rest in peace. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home
